Because of its light weight of 3.2kg, compact dimensions and high functionality, the TETRA Vehicle pc Light is the ideal solution for applications in vehicles, ships, trains, and airplanes, in the outdoor area (sports, military, construction, tunnelling, surveying and alignment, etc.), for multimedia PCs, and multi display systems (vending desks, advertising panels, checkout systems, POS and POI).

The housing and the connector on the rear are sprayproof. The front controls are protected from spray water and flood water on all sides by a watertight flap. Protection standard IP54 or IP65 is complied with depending on the type of replicator.

The TETRA Vehicle pc Light can connect to the Internet using an optionally installed GPRS module (900/1800/1900MHz). The bandwidth of the builtin GPRS modem provides data transfer speeds of up to 36 kbits/sec.
Normal telephone calls can be made with the GSM option using a headset.

The TETRA Vehicle pc Light can calculate the exact position at any time using a built-in GPS receiver.

The TETRA Vehicle pc Light is connected to the Internet via the LAN connection, the WLAN option or via the GPRS modem option. A built-in WLAN is also optionally available. The system can be expanded with USB 2.0 and Firewire IEEE1394. A CAN-bus interface can be optionally integrated for use in vehicles. The CAN bus can also be used to add additional decentralised I/O modules (digital, analogue).

An analogue or LCD SVGA monitor is usually connected to the VGA connector for providing screen displays. The TETRA Vehicle pc Light can also actuate digital LCD’s over a distance of 10 metres using 18-bit LVDS or PanelLink (DVI) digital LCD's.

The TETRA Vehicle pc Light has two separately operating display memories. Different displays can be shown on two screens (dual screen mode).

As well as the standard PC interfaces, the TETRA Vehicle pc Light also has a large number of built-in input/output expansions:

The TETRA Vehicle pc Light can be equipped with GPS/GSM/WLAN. The 3 required watertight coaxial sockets (FAKRA standard) are located on the rear of the equipment.

The optionally installed battery provides cover for power failures of up to 5 minutes. The battery is continuously charged by a smart charger and the operating system registers the available power reserves.
